French style bodice has V-shaped neckline and two points in the front at the bottom of the lacing. Lightly boned along front edges to maintain shape. Bottom of bodice sits at waist. This bodice is designed to be worn over a chemise and with a petticoat in a matching or contrasting color. Our French bodices are reversible, giving you more options for your wardrobe.
These bodices also look fantastic with a pair of jeans for a twist on the modern vest. We sell alot of them for that very purpose!
Colors and fabric patterns will vary and are listed by the predominant color in the fabric. Not all colors available in all sizes.

*This style of costume was used by Colonial Williamsburg in the 1970's. It is based on a jacket design that had removable sleeves for working in the fields. New research shows that similar garments were also worn under jackets and shortgowns for warmth. It has been well used by Hollywood to portray colonial times. It is not intended to be period accurate.
